UPDATE
Dec-7-07 We took Ginger and Gambler to the vet today,We wanted checkups on them and their opinion on what to do with
Ginger They could get them in sooner if we trailered in, since Ginger did fine on the ride to the barn we figured
she would do fine on the much shorter ride to the vet since she had much more energy now. We didn't feel anything more then
normal on the way over and we drove slowly however while Adam went to check in I was to unload. I found Ginger on the ground
most her body was under the divider and she was almost under gambler I quickly untied her she laid her head down and her breathing
was labored. By this time the vet and his assistant were at the trailer. Their was no way to get Gambler out with out him
stepping on her,and she would not be getting up, We don't know if she had a stroke, however that seams likely. She started
thrashing with her leg's to get up (Vet was going to put her down at this point anyways ) so The vet and his assistant
quickly euthanized her We were afraid her thrashing would break Gambler's leg's. It was sad to see she had so much will to
live! The vet said at least her last few week's she knew a warm stall and a full belly, The only bright part of the day is
Gambler is fine and the vet didn't see any need to run blood since he has been gaining so well.
This is ginger the 25+ year old mare, we had though to put her down at first because she could hardly move but ..
She is showing so much will to live we dont know if were going to or not. We have put her on a small dose of bute to see if
it helps.
